Hi there,
I must share with you some information that you may or may not know. I started this blog so I could reach people out in the world and share my funny stories and thoughts. I also choose to include great places I visit, cool ideas, and I enjoy passing on information that will save you time, money or heartache. At this time none of the people, places or things I have blogged about are paying me to blog about them. I need you to understand it is only coming from my heart. If any place/product/business/company/etc. I choose to mention ever would like to advertise on my minds blog, I would not turn them away. I would welcome them with my blog since I believe in them, you might too... On that note, I also need you to understand that I will never allow any of them to advertise here unless I approve the message to you. For many years when I would mention somewhere I went or something I used to people and they would always come back to me and say "hey, thanks, you were right, it was amazing!" This is why I blog about them. This is not about the money (OK, obviously the money would be ever so helpful right now as I am a full-time college student and in need of getting my minds blog mobile again) but about the fact that I only pass on information of value or laughter. If it doesn't include those things, then I don't blog about it. Now if it has to do with mean people (because mean people suck!) then I may choose to post but only if it makes sense. I do not wish to attack you with blog-vertisements all over the place. I just wish to pass on useful, helpful information for your happiness! Please let me know what you think about this. Sand a comment! Share with me, i shared with you.....
Well, it was an amazing heartfelt ceremony that I held for the poor, poor netbook. My dear friend is now in netbook heaven where he will live on forever. Now, as I am netbook/laptop-less my minds blog will be posted only from home. I will try to get it mobile again soon.......
You should have come by Hafez Restaurant (503) 445-2129 in Tigard tonight. They were quite packed with many smiling facing and full happy bellies all around. This treasure of a restaurant is like my mom's house. People come and come back and back.... To me, growing up as part of a Persian (yes, from Iran) family, this place is like home. It smells like home, tastes like home, and looks just like home. There is an area with mats down low to the floor that reminds me of our family room in Iran. We call them doh-shacks and I'm certain I have spelled it incorrectly. I spell it like I say it...... I remember when my dad came back from the USA when I was 2 1/2 years old. We were preparing for relocation. He got home, got in his house clothes and we all gathered in the family room on the doh-shacks. We sat and patiently listened to his stories of this amazing country we were moving to. When it was our turn to inquire on this most amazing land, I jumped up and eagerly asked if there were any little girls there I could play with. He smiled and said "yes, as a matter of fact we have a neighbor just 2 houses down from us and they have a little girl that is 1 year younger than you." I was elated! A new friend just for me!!!! (hey, remember, I'm young and it's all about me!) I asked, "what's her name daddy?" and he responded "Al-i-son" and I, repeating it slowly (obviously not well since at the time I only spoke Farsi) responded to my father, "well, daddy, she has a very strange name" and he came back at me with the most MEMORABLE phrase of my dear childhood "when we move to America, my child, they will think your name and all of ours are STRANGE." At the time I remember being quite perturbed. I did not understand what was really happening. No young child knows what relocation means. Or at least I did not! So that my friends was the very beginning of my families endeavor to this country called the USA. If only I knew what we were getting into....... This was just the beginning of my life here in the United States of America, and I am going to share it all with you piece by funny piece.
As I constantly tell my friends, metaphorically, you can run, but you can't hide. So, I will tell you, my blog-friends, you read my bio, you will laugh. I'm thinking you will always come back for more just because you like it so much. If you happen to be my minds blog-hater, you will come back for the punishment of laughter! Yeah, and if you're not laughing right at this moment, you were just a moment ago!
By the way, do any of you watch Craig Ferguson on The Late Late Show after David Letterman on CBS. Let me know.... It's my favorite! There's a foul mouthed robot, Geoff Peterson, a fluffy bunny puppet, and Secretariat, the famous Ferguson sidekick that enters whenever a doorbell rings and has everyone dancing with their arms in the air as he parades around the stage. This is FUNNY STUFF!!!!!!! He is funny stuff. Hey, I think I'm funny stuff. We were all meant for each other. You see everyone, in the life, everything happens for a reason. Me, you, blogs, Secretariat..... Check it out and remember, IN YOUR PANTS! (Thank you so kindly, Geoff Peterson!)
Ciao for now......
